Jean LAMORE‘s film, Building Oblivion, which focuses on the conflict in the Western Sahara, has been screened at: SOAS London University School of Oriental and African Studies, BBC World News with Geroge Alaghia, Royal African Society London, Frontline War Correspondant’s Club London, Assemblée nationale Paris, Naples International Human Rights Film Festival and others.

Prior to his film, he wrote AKA: Book of Fever (2006, Frank and Wynkin deWorde), which was described as, when “compared to the voices and styles of both Dante
and Joyce, AKA risks what all great works are inflicted with – being widely misunderstood and being rudely ahead of its time.”

Jean was born in Washington, DC to an American father and French mother, and raised in Nevada, Missouri. He writes in both English and French, is the author of works in fiction and essays on the intersection of culture, politics and science, and edits the cultural magazine Mamba. His works include Tideworks, L’Homme-Feu, The Kite, Poison Ivy, Sunstorm, and Diario del Polisario. AKA is his first book published in English. He is completing a new novel.

Jean lives in Vitry, France, near Paris.
